In December 2019 the average price of a purchased home was £197,329.57, in comparison to December 2018 where the average was £194,711.35.
The increase, detailed in figures released by the Land Registry, previously reached £5,000 in October 2019.
At that point Peterborough came close to hitting the £200,000 mark for the first time in history.
House prices have fluctuated particularly over the past four years following a period of uncertainty. Since the Brexit referendum four years ago, house prices have increased by £30,000.
