On Thursday (June 9) at 7.38pm, a crew from Dogsthorpe was called to trees on fire on Adderley, North Bretton.
While finding the incident, the crew couldn’t get a fire engine close to the fire due to poorly parked vehicles blocking the road.
This meant firefighters had to run equipment to the fire which was over 150 metres away.
Despite the challenging access, firefighters quickly got to work to extinguish the fire, before returning to their station by 9pm.
The cause of the fire was believed to be deliberate. If anyone has any information about this incident or any other deliberate fire, please contact the police to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Residents are urged to consider whether an emergency vehicle could get through, before parking.
