Lights, camera, action for Easter holiday filmmaking workshop

Sheridan Creatives are running filmmaking workshops for young people from the ages of 10 to 16 in the Easter holidays.

Expert tutors will be on hand to teach the attendees the basics of filmmaking, covering all aspects of the job from performing in front of the camera to writing, directing and operating the equipment behind the scenes.

Charlotte Sheridan, creative director of Sheridan Creatives, said: "We would love to have as many of you on board as possible to create some awesome short films! For those who have been before we will pushing your creativity, pushing your skills in different areas of filmmaking and introducing you to some new equipment and new ideas.

"For those who are new to us you will learn skills such as job roles in media, storyboarding, lighting, sound, camera operating, cinematography, directing, acting, and how to work in the art department on set! 

"These courses are great fun but also hold key transferable skills which can be taken on into any situation you find yourself in. We run a safe and supportive environment with industry professionals leading the way."

The course will run in Peterborough from April 6 to April 9 at Tu Danse Studios. The day starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm. The cost is £110 for four days of activities.

On the final afternoon friends and family are invited to attend a screening of the work created on the course.
