Claiming the UK’s first Christmas screening of 2020, Showcase Cinemas across the country, including the Peterborough site, are showing the Macaulay Culkin classic for £5 per ticket. Movie-goers will also receive a chocolate pouch to enjoy with the film – and Christmas jumpers are optional!
Mark Barlow, general manager of Showcase Cinemas UK, said: "This year has been tough on everyone and, with Christmas looking to be very different for 2020, we wanted to invite film fans to start the season earlier than ever before and join us for some much needed festive fun.
"We’re thrilled to be able to show Home Alone as every year it has consistently tops the polls as the nation’s favourite Christmas movie. So, we couldn’t think of a better film to bring to the big screen."
This announcement comes after Showcase committed to keeping cinemas open, in the wake of the closure of all Cineworld branches on October 8.
At the time, Mr Barlow said: "We were delighted to start reopening our cinemas back in July, and are committed to keeping them open.
"We are truly passionate about offering guests the best environment to watch a film – in the cinema.
"We have introduced a number of new safety measures as part of our Be Showcase Safe programme, from socially distanced seating and staggered film times to sanitising stations throughout and every seat being sprayed after every show with a non-chemical anti-viral spray – all to help keep our guests and employees as safe as possible."
Home Alone will be shown on Sunday, October 25, at 3pm. To book tickets, see the Showcase website.
