Shariqua was born and raised in Hyderabad, India, and moved to Peterborough in November 2016 after getting married to a Peterborian - having worked as a newspaper journalist in India.

Prior to Peterborough Matters, she was working as a local reporter for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire - exploring and digging out local stories ranging from drug dealing and refugees rebuilding their lives in Peterborough to Eid celebrations and Peterborough City Council matters. She now considers Peterborough her new home and is very passionate about it!
