One of the best friends that I had as a teenager, I spent many a evening in the red lion or the chequers with Mutley (Paul) and spent many weekends staying at his mum and dads house in Morton ave, Paul loved music like me, rock, punk rock and he had a mad crush on Debbie Harry from Blondie, later in life when I moved back to March he was on the committee at the United Services and got me doing the discos there, one night he came and asked me to play his favourite song which was Let’s go crazy by Prince and for the first time I saw him dance on a dance floor all alone air guitaring to it. He was a truly great friend and if there is to be a celebrate night I will provide the disco music for it as my own personal tribute to a top mate, thanks Paul, your old mate Vern x

So sad. A true friend since school days and the Chequers. Went out together and drove him many miles to discos, even slept in a tent with him on Hunstanton's old station yard (even though we did chuck his smelly socks outside). Please let us know when the celebration though
