Peterborough Cathedral is calling for entries for their ‘Made in 2022’ exhibition following the success of the ‘Made in Lockdown’ exhibition.

The cathedral is asking for artwork reflecting “the times in which we live” for the ‘Made in 2022’ exhibition next year.

The artwork should in some way reflect the year of 2022, therefor the piece needn’t be a literal depiction of something that happened but can instead be an abstract piece.

Drawings, paintings, prints and collages in various mediums are accepted though they must fit size requirements and be ready to hang.

Three dimensional pieces will also be accepted if within size requirements.

A representative for the cathedral said: “It has certainly been an eventful 12 months both nationally and internationally.

“If you created a piece of art or craft that in some way reflects the year just gone, this is a great opportunity to share it with a wider audience in a beautiful space.”

Peterborough Cathedral would also like to thank Savill’s for their help in putting the event together.

David Goodson, director and head of office at Savills in Peterborough, said: “With roots in Peterborough that stretch back to the 1950s, we are always keen to support local initiatives and this year's 'Made in' exhibition is one that we are proudly supporting.

“Over the course of the year there have been many challenges and this exhibition will play a wonderfully cathartic role in enabling people to express what 2022 has meant to them through arts and crafts.

“Our thanks must go to the team at Peterborough Cathedral for organising the exhibition, which we are sure will conjure up some brilliant displays of artwork."

Submission forms will be available via the cathedral's website soon.

Entries must be submitted by Monday 16th January 2023.

If your piece is included, the cathedral will be in contact to ask that you deliver the artwork on Wednesday 1, February between 1-4pm or Saturday 4, February from 10am-1pm.

The exhibition will be shown in the cathedral from February 5 to March 2, 2023.

Artists need to read the free-to-enter exhibition’s full Criteria, Terms and Conditions of entry before putting in their work.
