Staff at the Ashlynn Grange Care Home, in Peterborough, asked their residents about the meaning of love.
Hazel and husband Graham have been married for 62 years and for them it is about being by one another’s side.
The couple first met at the Reading Salvation Army. Graham was in the army and a part of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Military Band as principal on euphonium.
Hazel was working as a nurse at Whipps Cross Hospital, in east London, at the time. The pair had a two-year courtship before they were married.
Their wedding took place at Walthamstow Citadel and they went on to have two daughters.
Hazel now lives at Ashlynn Grange, in Bretton Gate, and her husband visits every day, spending quality time with his beloved wife.
They will be celebrating Valentine’s Day at a special lunch being hosted by the home, with the head chef creating a themed menu for diners.
Joining them at the Valentine’s meal will be Terry, a resident on the Hayward community at the home, and his beloved daughter Kim, because for him love is about your family.
Home manager, Cathy Frost, said: “Terry's daughter Kim is a very regular visitor and enjoys coming to Ashlynn Grange to spend some quality time with her father. They have a lovely close bond and she often takes him for a coffee in our cafe or sits with him when we have musical entertainment.
“Terry has always kept a photo of him with Kim as a little girl in his wallet. In Terry's eyes his Valentine is his daughter Kim.
“We are looking forward to hosting the Valentine’s meal and helping our residents make special memories with the people they love most in the world, be that a partner, son, daughter or special friend.”
