Vistry East Midlands - which has its headquarters in Peterborough - have raised more than £1,000 for youth suicide prevention charity Papyrus.

Papyrus was Vistry Group’s national chosen charity for 2022, with the company raising £257,862 during the year.

Staff completed a charity cycle ride around Rutland Water and made cakes for a bake-off competition held to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last summer.

Those events, added to raffles held by Vistry East Midlands throughout the year, led to a fundraising total of £1,181 for Papyrus. The money will go towards the charity’s helpline HOPELINEUK, which provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide and those closest to them.

Fraser Hopes, regional managing director of Vistry East Midlands, said: “I’d like to thank all our employees for their efforts in raising money for Papyrus, whether they took part in the Rutland Water cycle ride, baked a cake for the Jubilee bake-off or bought raffle tickets – everyone’s participation has helped us achieve this fundraising total."
