There are a number of Remembrance services and events taking place in Cambridgeshire this year.

Armistice Day (November 11) this year falls on Saturday and marks the actual day that World War One ended.

Remembrance Sunday (November 12) will see communities across the country come together to pause and reflect on those who served and remember their sacrifice.

Below are details of several Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day events taking place across Cambridgeshire if you wish to pay your respects.

Armistice Day

Ely

At 10.54am on Saturday, November 11, there will be a short service at Ely War Memorial, Market Place, to commemorate the signing of the Armistice on November 11, 1918.

The service will include a two-minute silence at 11.00am and the laying of wreaths by the Mayor of Ely, the ECDC Chairman, and the President of the City of Ely Royal British Legion Branch for everyone to attend.

Peterborough

Peterborough City Council, in conjunction with the Peterborough Branch of the Royal British Legion, will commemorate Armistice Day with a two-minute silence.

The Armistice two-minute silence service starts at 10.40am at the War Memorial outside the Town Hall on Bridge Street.

Ramsey

Ramsey Town Council, in conjunction with Royal British Legion Ramsey and District, will host an Armistice Day event at the Ramsey Memorial from 10.45am.

March

March Town Council has organised an Armed Forces Day parade, which will form from 10.50am to the side of St Peter's Church.

They will then march up the road to the front of the church, where Reverend Andrew Smith will start the service by delivering a prayer before a two-minute silence is held.

Whittlesey

An Act of Remembrance Service will take place from 10.50am at Coates War Memorial and Whittlesey War Memorial.

Huntingdon

An Armistice Day service will take place from 11am, and the public is invited to assemble on the Market Square no later than 10.40am.

This year marks the centenary of the Thinking Soldier War Memorial's original unveiling, and a special re-unveiling ceremony will happen prior to the Armistice Day service at 11:00am.

Anyone who wishes to lay a wreath will be invited to do so at the appropriate time during the service.

Remembrance Sunday

Huntingdon

On Sunday, November 12, RAF Wyton will parade into the Market Square from the Princes Street entrance, and there will then be a service organised by Huntingdon Town Council followed by a wreath laying at the Thinking Soldier statue.

The parade will then march along the High Street and St Mary's Street.

Members of the public are invited to join on the Market Square no later than 10.40am when the parade will march into position.

Ely

Ely's Service of Remembrance will start at 10.30am in Ely Cathedral, and afterwards, there will be a march through town and a parade and Act of Remembrance in the Market Square.

Prior to the service, a parade will take place at the Porta Gate, Barton Square, marching off at 10.00am along the Gallery to the Cathedral in order to be seated for the Service of Remembrance by approximately 10.15am.

The Service of Remembrance incorporates a two-minute silence at 11.00am followed by a Poppy fall from the Lantern Tower and then a wreath laying service at Ely War Memorial.

Godmanchester

Godmanchester Town Council will hold its annual Remembrance Sunday Parade from 10.30am-11.30am.

All are welcome to join and watch the Civic party process from the Town Hall car park to the War Memorial on Post Street, where a short service will be held at 11am.

The roads leading to the War Memorial will be closed for one hour for the duration of the parade and service.

St Ives

St Ives Town Council has organised a Remembrance Parade, which will set off at approximately 10.30am from Waitrose car park.

The service starts at 10.45am, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am, then there will be further readings, prayers and wreath laying, finishing with the Parade marching back to Waitrose.

Whittlesey

Whittlesey Town Council has organised a morning service with Act of Remembrance from St Andrews church at 9.30am, Holy Trinity church at 10am and St Mary's Church at 10.55am.

Then, at 2pm, a parade will leave St Andrews Parish Hall on Parkinson's Lane to process to the War Memorial on Queen Street, with a laying of the wreath and a brief service of remembrance.

Peterborough

The Remembrance Sunday service at the War Memorial outside the Town Hall on Bridge Street starts at 10.45am.

Members of the public are invited to join the procession at the War Memorial or can watch the event on a large screen in Cathedral Square, while the silence and wreath laying service will also be streamed on the Peterborough City Council YouTube channel.

St Neots

A Remembrance Sunday procession and service will take place from the Market Square down the High Street, ending at St Neots Parish Church.

The procession will begin at 9.30am and a short church service will begin at 10am, followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial, including a two-minute silence at 11am to remember the fallen.

March

All organisations are invited to participate in the event, which begins at 9.30am with a muster at St Peter's Church.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the church at 9.45am before the parade begins marching from the church to West End Park at 10.45am.

At 10.55am, a Drumhead Service will take place near the Bandstand. A two-minute silence will be held at 11am, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony.

Ramsey
