City residents and businesses are being asked to give their views on our local food systems through a Peterborough Food Strategy survey.

The survey is available online at www.flourishpeterborough.co.uk/survey until 5th February 2024.

Following on from the ‘Growing Together in Peterborough’ exhibition at Peterborough Museum, which ran at the end of 2023, the survey is asking for public to share their thoughts ahead of developing a sustainable food strategy for the city.

By gaining local views, opinions, and feedback, the aim is to find out what local residents really want to see happen for the city’s food scene.

Lauren Kendrick, founder of Flourish Peterborough and Chair of the Peterborough Food Partnership, explains: “This is about action, not just words.

"Across Peterborough, we have an amazing array of residents, community groups, growers and other food businesses. Now is the time to get their voices heard to help develop a food action plan that benefits everyone.”

Lauren says the survey is quick and easy to fill in online. The information collected will be used to help develop a future food strategy for the city, forming a joined-up approach to adapting and supporting the food system across the greater Peterborough area in the coming years.

The team behind the survey comes from the Peterborough Food Partnership: a network of representatives from the local farming community, food businesses, the public sector, Peterborough City Council, NGOs, community food groups and local academic institutions.

Their aim is to develop a sustainable, healthier, and more inclusive food culture for our city that celebrates and values local produce and independent businesses.
