Light House Community Group CIO - the charity that manage East Community Centre in Peterborough - has held its first free holiday activity session of the new year.

Project coordinator Kimberly Lavery said: “I have been running our free children’s holiday activity sessions over the last 12 months and we have had a variety of different fun filled, themed sessions.

"With Ramadan only three weeks away, that was chosen as one of the session's themes.

"Parents/carers and children had some quality time together to get creative and spend the afternoon having fun."

Each child attending the sessions was provided with a free lunch bag and some goodies to take home.

"During the current cost-of-living crisis, children can often miss out on things like this, as families have far more pressing things to spend their family budget on, It is so important for local families to have a place to go to spend some quality family time together and get creative without the financial pressure of paying for holiday activities."
