An inquest has been opened into the death of a 23-year-old man who died in a collision on a rural Fenland road near Peterborough.
Muhammad Faizan, 23, died at the scene of the incident which happened on the A605 Wisbech Road, in Coates, on December 21 last year.
The emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision at around 8:30pm.
Caroline Jones, an area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, opened an inquest into Mr Faizan’s death today (Thursday) at Lawrence Court, Huntingdon.

At the brief hearing, she said: “This matter has now been suspended pending the criminal proceedings which have been instituted by the Crown Prosecution Service.
“Therefore no further date has yet been fixed but the matter will be reviewed upon the conclusion of the criminal case.
“I therefore adjourn the matter and suspend it accordingly, and in doing so I extend my condolences to the family of Mr Faizan.”
Meanwhile, Owen Bird, 45, the driver of the other vehicle is currently due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on January 20.
He has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing injury by dangerous driving.
Bird, of Headland Way, Whittlesey, has been remanded in custody.
