An inquest has been opened into the death of a man who was found drowned at a hotel in Peterborough.
James Holman was staying at Travelodge Peterborough Central, in New Road, when he was discovered on Christmas Eve (December 24) last year.
Area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Simon Milburn opened the inquest on Thursday (July 17) at Peterborough Town Hall.
At a brief hearing, Mr Milburn confirmed a post-mortem examination of the 73-year-old had been carried out.
The coroner recorded a provisional cause of death of drowning and multiple drug toxicity.
The inquest was adjourned for a written decision that will be set in due course, Mr Milburn confirmed.
