Peterborough Matters readers have shared their opinions about the Mayor's proposal for free parking in the city centre.
Qaiser Bg supported the idea and said: "Peterborough needs free parking to encourage and increase footfall in our city centre.
"This is an amazing proposal and can help revive our city.
"If you want the best for Peterborough, you should support this initiative."
David Rose also thought it would be "a good thing for the city".
He added: Paul Bristow is on to something with this plan - shops are willing to return to Peterborough: Fraser's and HMV to name two."

Ghulam Shabbir was also keen on the idea and said: "Free parking would certainly encourage me to shop in town more often."
He added that "parking charges here are crazy - it was cheaper to Park outside Kew Gardens than behind town hall".
Vicky Johnson however disagreed and said that "free parking is not going to bring people into the city".
She said: "There is nothing to go into the city for. We need something to draw people in, but the shops that did draw customers in have gone, including in Queensgate."
She recalled that, years ago she and her friends would often go into the city for the day.
"We would mooch around the big shops and have lunch in the city, but now it's all gone."
Now, however, she said she finds the city "depressing" and much prefers Cambridge.
Another reader, Andi Springthorpe, said she would actually like to see less parking: "Keep the disabled bays and make them free wherever, then cut down the rest.
"Encourage greener, healthier methods instead of cars being the default choice for every journey."
