Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery and Peterborough Cathedral are to host the Katharine of Aragon festival.
Taking place from January 25 to February 1, 2026, this series of events celebrates the historic date of January 29, 1536, when Henry VIII's first wife was laid to rest at the cathedral after her death at Kimbolton Castle.
The Tudor-themed celebrations at Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery include, on January 29, a 'Music from the time of Katharine of Aragon' concert featuring Argentinian tenor Rafael Montero.
Tickets for this unique performance are priced at £18.
The events will give patrons the opportunity to step back in time to the 1500s and see what life was like in Tudor England.
They can meet costumed characters such as the barber-surgeon (you might not want their medicine!) or the Tudor cook (with real Tudor recipes).
There is also the chance to try on Tudor armour, as well as learn about crime and punishment.
If that isn't enough visitors can delve into the excitement of sword fighting with hands-on sessions led by expert instructors.
Suitable for ages 6-600, with tickets costing £10 per person.
For those interested in the historical impact of Katharine of Aragon, the museum is offering a tour of the Priestgate Vaults and a talk titled: "Spanish Princess, Miserable Widow, and Queen of England."
Tickets for the tour and talk are priced at £5 and £12 respectively.
There is also a chance on February 1 to learn how art was used to shape the identities and reputations of Tudor royal women, at a talk titled "Art for Tudor Queens."
