Children eligible for free school meals can enjoy activities and healthy meals during the half-term break.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is available during the February half-term, offering school-age children in Peterborough up to two free sessions, each lasting four hours, filled with enriching activities and a nutritious meal.

The scheme, funded by the Department for Education, is open to all primary and secondary pupils eligible for benefit-related free school meals and is designed to help children stay healthy, active, and engaged during the holidays.

Councillor Katy Cole, cabinet member for children’s services, said: "The HAF programme has proved incredibly popular, so I am delighted that we are offering an additional scheme for the forthcoming February half-term break.

"These sessions provide healthy food and activities that enable children to interact with other children and encourage them to try out new things."

Cllr Cole encouraged parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to explore available options and contact providers directly to discuss suitability.

A variety of venues across Peterborough will be hosting sessions during the school holiday.
