An inquest has been opened into the death of a man who police believe was murdered last year.
Zbigniew Wasiak was identified as the victim of a fatal house fire on Wootton Avenue, Fletton, on September 7, 2025.
Police were called by the fire service at about 3.35am on with reports of the fire after a body was discovered.
Area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Caroline Jones opened the 59-year-old's inquest today (Thursday February 5) at Lawrence Court, in Huntingdon.
The brief hearing heard how Mr Wasiak's death was reported by Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Firefighters received a call from a neighbouring property's automatic fire alarm which had been triggered by the blaze.

Crews arrived on scene to discover a fire at "at an adjoining premises" and gained entry before locating a body in the hallway with "extensive burn injuries".
Mr Wasiak's body was identified by a scene of crime officer by way of fingerprint.
A postmortem examination was conducted which gave a provisional cause of death of a single stab wound to the neck.
The hearing was suspended by the Ms Jones pending criminal proceedings.
Although no future hearing date was listed, she announced an inquest would be heard before senior coroner David Hemming.
So far, three people have been charged with Mr Wasiak's murder, including Malgorzata Mikste, 28, who was charged on September 30.
