Search the Public Notice PortalPeterborough City Council has launched a public survey to help shape the design of a proposed development that would replace the former Regional Fitness and Swimming Centre.
The scheme includes an eight-lane, 25-metre pool, a 20-metre learner pool, and a full fitness suite.
More than half of the anticipated costs of the development have been secured, thanks to a £20million funding announcement by the Government in November from its Growth Mission Fund, subject to the submission of a full business case.
Councillor Shabina Qayyum, leader of Peterborough City Council, said: "We know how important it is for residents to see a new, modern swimming pool and leisure centre in the city and we are committed to delivering one as quickly as possible.
"The £20m injection from Government last November means we can progress at pace."
An online survey launched on March 2 asks residents for their views on priority features for the development, including swimming facilities, gym provision, and facilities for children and young people, and access for older people and those with disabilities.
Councillor Qayyum said: "The initial feedback we received at the start of the year has been helpful, but this latest survey asks more detailed questions of our residents and will help inform the latest design phase."
Participants can also opt to join focus groups for more in-depth discussions.
A drop-in event will be held at Sand Martin House on March 23 from 3pm to 7pm, offering residents the opportunity to ask questions in person and share their feedback.
The proposed facility could include a café, Tag Active soft play area, health and wellbeing rooms, a 150-station fitness suite, two studios, and a spin studio.
If the full £36.5 million funding is secured, construction could begin in early 2027, with completion expected in 2028.
The survey is open until March 29.
