A museum has announced the opening of an exhibition celebrating the 90th anniversary of a beloved outdoor pool.

Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery announced Life at the Lido, a free exhibition running from April 16 to May 30.

The exhibition looks back at the history of Peterborough’s iconic outdoor pool, bringing together memories, photographs, and personal stories from generations of visitors.

Life at the Lido captures the joy and cultural significance of the venue, drawing inspiration from a book curated by Friends of Peterborough Lido.

A detailed timeline highlights key milestones in the Lido’s history, from competitive galas to community gatherings.

The exhibition also leads up to The Lido’s Big Birthday weekend from May 28-31, featuring entertainment and celebrations.

A spokesperson for the museum said: "Life at the Lido is free to visit and offers something for everyone - whether you’re looking to reminisce over fond memories or discovering the Lido’s story for the first time."

Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
