A burglar who smashed multiple vehicles at a Peterborough car auction has been jailed.
Adam Dunn, 37, went to City Car Auctions, in Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, at just before 6am on July 19.
He got into the building via a fire exit, setting the alarm off in the process. He walked down a corridor kicking multiple doors, before punching a control panel and leaving empty handed.
A few hours later, at about 12.45pm, Dunn returned to the business, where he was challenged by staff and escorted from the site.
At about 3.10pm he went back for a third time. On this occasion he took a set of keys, before going out onto the forecourt where he smashed the windows of multiple vehicles.
Staff called the police and Dunn, of Hinchcliffe, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, was arrested.

It later transpired that between visits to the auction site he had gone to Evolve Technologies, in Milnyard Square, Orton Southgate, where he had stolen an energy drink, as well as a fuel card and a pair of sunglasses from an unlocked vehicle.
Dunn was jailed for two years on Monday April 27 at Cambridge Crown Court, having admitted two counts of burglary, criminal damage and theft from a motor vehicle.
Detective Sergeant Lauren Easton said: “Dunn’s bizarre behaviour that day led to significant financial loss and disruption to a local business.
“I’m pleased he was apprehended by staff and has now appeared in court to answer for his actions.”
