A busy city bridge is set to close for essential repair work, with replacement of expansion joints scheduled to take six weeks.
The closure affects the bridge on Peterborough Road between Stanground and Farcet and will begin on July 27, with a full closure in place for both vehicles and pedestrians throughout the works.
Angus Ellis, cabinet member for transport at Peterborough City Council, said: "It is important that these works are completed to ensure the longevity of the structure.
"We have been mindful that the closure will create a challenge for some people and have tried to minimise the impact of the works by completing during the school holidays.

"We will progress the scheme as quickly as possible and would like to thank people for their patience and understanding whilst the joints are replaced."
Expansion joints are critical to bridge safety, allowing for movement due to temperature changes, wind, and heavy loads.
They also help absorb stress and prevent water and debris from damaging the bridge's internal structure.
The works will be delivered by M Group, Peterborough City Council's highways partner.
M Group has a proven track record in the city and has successfully delivered a number of highway schemes during its partnership with the council.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to plan ahead, with diversion routes signed during the closure.
The council is encouraging people to familiarise themselves with the diversion routes ahead for the closure and allow additional time for their journeys.
