Police have identified a man whose body was recovered from a Cambridgeshire river.

Officers were called to Town Bridge, in Peterborough, at just after 8am on Monday July 20 to reports a body could been seen in the River Nene.

Sadly, the body of a man was recovered from the river and the death is now being treated as "unexplained".

A file has been passed on to the coroner.

A spokesperson for the force said officers believe the man may have been in the water since Sunday (July 19).

Those who think they may have seen anything are urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 94 of July 20.
