A takeaway owner has been charged with class A drug offences following a police investigation into suspected criminal activity at the shop.
Wasim Yasin, 35, of Gladstone Street, Peterborough, faces charges of possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin, as well as being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
He appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on August 11 and was remanded in custody.
Mr Yasin is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on September 8.
The charges are linked to the closure of Bake Me 1, a takeaway on Gladstone Street, which was shut down following concerns about drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.
Peterborough Magistrates’ Court issued a three-month closure order on July 21, following an application from the Central Neighbourhood Policing Team.
PC Chris Ogden said: "Drug dealing and associated anti-social behaviour can cause misery for local communities.
"Closure orders provide respite for local people who have been affected by these issues."
Two men from Peterborough were arrested last year on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and have since been released on bail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
PC Ogden urged residents to report any breaches of the closure order.
He said: "I urge anyone with information about potential breaches to report it to us so we can ensure the order is adhered to and the issues are addressed."
Breaching the order is a criminal offence and could result in up to three months' imprisonment, a fine, or both.
