Evri has responded after a delivery driver was caught in Cambridgeshire with no insurance or a valid driving licence.
Police confirmed a delivery van with around 100 packages inside had been stopped by officers in St Neots on Wednesday (August 19).
Cambridgeshire Constabulary said it would "have been a miracle" if the parcels had been delivered due to the "look of the van's tyres".
In a statement, Evri revealed the driver was a third-party courier and added that the vehicle involved was not owned by the company.
A spokesperson said it took safety and compliance "very seriously" and said it requires the same from its couriers.
"We are aware of an incident involving a self-employed courier and his own vehicle, and we are investigating this with the individual in question," they added.
"All of our couriers are responsible for ensuring that they have the correct documentation to provide service, including a driving licence and insurance."
Evri said the vast majority of parcels handled by the firm are contracted to be delivered within five days.
It confirmed the packages involved in the incident will be redelivered, with "the majority still delivered within the timeframe."
