A music project is helping women find their voice by turning beginners into confident singers in just ten weeks.

Sing for Life returns to Peterborough this September, offering around 40 women the chance to take part in the experience.

No singing experience is required, and no auditions will be held.

Participants will learn vocal skills, build confidence, and perform live on stage at The Cresset.

They will also raise funds for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice through the project.

Will Prideaux, project director, said: "We're here to help ordinary women—like you!—discover that they can sing, whatever they've told themselves, or been told, in the past.

"Everyone has a song they love to sing in the car or at karaoke.

"We simply help them find the confidence to sing together with others.

"The transformation isn't just in their voices; it's in the friendships they build, the confidence they gain and the pride they feel when they step onto the concert stage together."

Last year, more than 100 women took part, raising over £10,000 for charity and delivering a sold-out show.

Annette Mawby, community fundraiser at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, said: "We're completely in awe of the passion and dedication participants bring to this project and are incredibly grateful for their support.

"Every pound raised helps Sue Ryder continue to ensure that no one has to face the hardest times of their lives alone.

"We'd love more women to join this year's project and lend their voices to a cause that truly matters."

Sign-up sessions will be held at the John Mansfield Campus in Peterborough on Thursday, September 3 from 7pm to 9pm; Friday, September 4 from 7pm to 9pm; and Saturday, September 5 from 2pm to 4pm.

Registration is required in advance.
