Cambridgeshire is set to be battered by 55mph winds and heavy rain tomorrow, with a yellow weather warning for Storm Austen issued.
The Met Office is predicting a "spell of strong winds" and heavy rain across the county from 10am until 9pm, which could lead to power cuts and travel delays.
"Winds across the warning area are not expected to be as strong as those further south and west," the warning states.
"A spell of inland gales is possible with gusts around 45mph to 55mph during Friday daytime.
"In combination with locally heavy rain and many trees still in full leaf, there is potential for some power outages and travel disruption."
The Met Office has classed the warning as high likelihood and a moderate impact.
Storm Austen is the first named storm of the season and will be closely followed by Storm Boelo on Saturday and Sunday, although weather warnings over the weekend have not been issued for Cambridgeshire.
