It is the second of its kind in the city, with Peters' Cleaners opening its first pod in Serpentine Green in October 2019.

The pod means customers can use a fully-automated dry cleaning drop-off and collection point that offers 24/7 access, a quick turnaround and convenience.

“Our aim is to ensure our award winning dry cleaning and customer service remains convenient and accessible, without compromising on quality standards” said Vicky Whiter, managing director of Peters Cleaners. “Since customers are at the centre of our business, we are using the latest industry innovations to adapt to meet increased expectations and, as people get back to work, better fit in with busy schedules.”

The restrictions of Covid-19 hit many industries and local businesses hard, but Peters’ Cleaners remained open throughout to continue providing its service to the community. The autonomy and convenience of using the original pod proved to be a huge success with customers during this challenging period.

How the pods work

To use either of the pods, customers need to open an account at www.peterscleaners.co.uk to receive their membership cards.

When dropping off items, they place the membership card in with the dry cleaning and use another to open the pod door to deposit the items.

Peters’ Cleaners collects and delivers the items to the company’s specialist cleaning facilities. Items are returned to the pod when cleaning is complete and customers are notified by email when their cleaning is ready for collection. The membership card is also required for pick up.

The new pod will help busy commuters, shoppers at Waitrose, and workers in Peterborough city centre. The price is the same as using the Lincoln Road shop and standard turnaround time is two days. Express service can be requested if items are received before 9am.

Peters’ Cleaners also offers a traditional laundry service from its Lincoln Road premises.
