Work at the venue has been progressing for months, with bosses confirming to Peterborough Matters that it would be turned into a shisha, grill and dessert bar.

Those behind Genie, the new name for the premises, have already put their mark on the building as they prepare to open their doors soon.

Genie has launched a Facebook page and bosses at the new venture have told Peterborough Matters that the location is due to open in the first week of October.

Manager Hawaar said: "We've been working on this and doing renovations for the last six months, and now we're hoping to open the first week of October, we have our fingers crossed.

"It will be a shisha and grill bar, but we will be serving desserts too. We're looking forward to opening but we just hope it all goes smoothly over the next few weeks."

The Beehive were actively involved with delivering their Posh Fish and Chips to various staff who were working during the pandemic as deliveries continued in June.

One month later, in July, bosses confirmed a new bar would be taking its place in the city.
