Monster Bowl

Hollywood Bowl is open for families to have fun and play safe this October half-term, between 9am and 10pm every day - and they've got a Monster Bowl game for everyone to sink their teeth into!

A reduced number of lanes are in use for social distancing and guests are advised to make bookings ahead of time. Completely new balls are in use, each with fun designs, so that groups can easily identify which ones are theirs.

Big Sky's Spooktacular Half-Term

From October 24 until November 1, soft play centre Big Sky is hosting daily half-term fun.

Each day, those who have booked for the 9.30am session will receive a free kids breakfast as part of the Monster Munch character breakfast. Fancy dress competitions will also be run, ghost hunts, mad scientist workshop, arts and crafts and alien laser games. Everything is included in the admission price.

Booking is essential, with available timeslots shown on the Big Sky website. Social distancing should be followed, with non-contact temperature checks potentially conducted before admittance.

Van Hage

Pot (and pumpkin) painting with resident Van Hage artist Roland Djibo is running in hourly time slots all half-term from 10am to 4pm. Spaces are limited to allow for social distancing, so booking is essential.

Sacrewell Farm events

Scarewell

Sacrewell Farm is hosting Scarewell from October 24 to November 1. Families can buy a Scarewell Pass to do three spooky activities, including pumpkin picking, chocolate making and the Spooky Mill Walk, but there are other fun and games on offer across the farm too.

The team at Sacrewell have worked hard to ensure that all Covid-19 measures are being adhered to; the event capacity is reduced and the activities spread wider across the farm.

Book your tickets on the Sacrewell Farm website.

The new play area should also be finished in time for half-term - even more reason to make a day of it.

Autumn Festival

Nene Park's Autumn Festival activity sheets are available to download or pick up from the visitor centre and gift shop, making a typical trip to the park a little bit more crafty!

Or, take a trip on the new eco-electric boat to get a new view of the park; the Meeting Magical Mammals virtual event is also available to book; and pay and play hire from Nene Outdoors is always a winner... as long as the weather co-operates.

See the Nene Park website for more.

PlayTown Roleplay Centre

The PlayTown Roleplay Centre has re-opened just in time for half-term. With 12 different roleplay areas, including a cafe, beauty salon, health centre, fire station and ice cream van, there's plenty to spark children's imagination as they get to play pretend.

The centre is based in Rutland, and isn't opening on Friday or Saturday for the first few weeks back in operation.

To find out more, or book a play session, see the PlayTown website.

Flip Out Peterborough

Flip Out Peterborough has taken over Bounce, and is not only planning a Halloween Pumpkin Party for October 31, but is also preparing for the Apocaflips - a week of half-term fun for the family.

Booking in advance is necessary, as spaces are limited. Even if you only plan to watch, spectator tickets are available. If jumping into the spooky Halloween spirit sounds good, check out the Flip Out website.
