An 84-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were the targets of a distraction burglary and an attempted distraction burglary in Peterborough.

An 84-year-old woman was followed to her home from a laundrette in Werrington at 2pm on October 19, 2023.

A man offered to walk her home and he stayed at the property for several hours before a relative arrived and asked him to leave.

The next day, a different relative noticed that money was missing from the woman's handbag.

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the victim's family noticed a man loitering at her property on a doorbell camera and told him to leave, which he did.

The second pensioner targeted was a 67-year-old man.

On Wednesday, January 31, a man followed the 67-year-old from a bus stop to his home in Gatenby, and let himself inside.

The man left once the police were called and nothing was taken.
